Casper Meth, aged 48, and John Meth, aged 16, arrived on ship “Samuel,” in 1739. On the same ship was Paul Michael who settled near Paulus and two of whose daughters married two of the Paulus sons. The Meths first bought land in Berks County, Pennsylvania, later in Hellam. They must have all been acquainted, but the “York Dispatch” of 24 June 1933, statement gives no clue as to its source.
